Will New Jersey Become Esports Betting’s Prime Location?

The gaming industry has experienced a radical change in the past couple of years. The buzz is mainly about egaming, betting, sports gambling, and others. Formally, the discussion took place on the location and now over a Zoom call. 

Another important part of these regular discussions was the sluggish improvement in esports. On the other hand, general sports betting took off miraculously after the U. S. Supreme gave permission back in 2018.

As per the latest development, David Rebuck, Director of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, has shown interest in esports. He said that the Governor, Phil Murphy, wants the company to be the hub for esports. He has asked our company to make New Jersey the hub of Esports. Earlier this month, it was reported that the Economic Development Authority had approved $200,000 funding to start an establishment for Esports at Stockton University’s Atlantis City Campus.

According to Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver, Atlantic City has always been the entertainment spot in New Jersey. She feels that making the city the epicenter for esports is a very smart move.

Accumulating facts and figures to pace up esports

To date, New Jersey has hosted a few esports tournaments. Rebuke believes that in esports, there are challenges that need serious attention. Nevertheless, if two companies decide to walk along, then this could be resolved. He added that they are in conversation with the big fishes of the industry, and they are responding well.

Apart from this, Rebuke is facing challenges like the interested bettors in esports are below the age of 21. Also, monetization of sports is another challenge.

The steady escalation of the esports audience

The popularity of esports is growing despite the competition. As per senior strategist of interpreting, James Brightman, the growth in esports viewers has been by 7% over the past year. The indications for the growth of esports are bright. Esports has been made legal in Colorado, Washington, Virginia, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
